HOW TO USE THE CELL GROUP MATERIAL

There are two courses available here.

(i) The Three Loves Course:

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart…and you’re your neighbour as yourself’

There are three areas we are to love in to be a channel of love and they are…

(1)   Love God – hence we will do the course on SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES

(2)   Love Others – Hence we will do the course on KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS

(3)   Love Ourselves – Hence we will do the course on THE OVERCOMING LIFE

(ii) Priesthood of All Believers Course:

Looking at aspects of us as priests, al having a function in the Church.

Each week you’ll get two sheets (the first will be one side and the second may be one or two sides).

(i)                 The first sheet will be for the CELL LEADER who will pass it to the ‘facilitator’ for that week. This is the leader’s overall guideline for each meeting.

(ii)               The second sheet is to be given to ALL CELL MEMBERS on the night itself and to the facilitator a week in advance for them to prepare.

The leader must start by reading the Leader’s sheet and familiarizing themselves with it. They will then delegate (it could to to themselves!)…

(a)   Who will lead the Icebreaker (the Leader should always open the meeting and welcome everyone before handing over the time). This person should know the details for the Icebreaker and the time limit and stick with those details.

(b)   Who will lead worship – let them know the theme and the possible songs to use plus the time limit.

(c)   Who will be the ‘facilitator’ (Word Section) – they should be briefed as to the role of a facilitator (i.e. To facilitate discussion and involvement of all and lead into practical outworking according to the topic). The ‘facilitator’ will need a copy of both sheets and read the WORD SECTION on the leader’s sheet plus familiarize themselves with the second sheet for the discussion time. They should go step by step through the material with the cell group and not deviate much from it. They must pace themselves and keep within the time limit.

(d)   Who will be the prayer leader for the WORKS SECTION. Brief them on the main prayer items and let them know the time limit. The leader should introduce and close off this section.0

(e)   Who will prepare food & drinks – delegate also someone to pray for the refreshments.

It is recommended that one meeting every month be a Cell Group activity time. This may be going our together for a fun time or ministering as a group at an old people’s home or doing visitation together, going on a Prayer Walk or one of many other creative ideas. Pray about what this time can be effectively use for.

Happy Cell Grouping!
