SODOMITE, SODOMY

[SAHD um ite, SAHD uh me]-- one who practices sodomy; unnatural sexual intercourse, especially that between two males. These English words are derived from SODOM, an ancient city in the land of Canaan noted for such depraved activities.

All the men of Sodom came to Lot's house, demanding that he allow them to have sexual relations with two people inside . But Lot refused. The next day Lot escaped from Sodom and God destroyed the city because of its great sin . Sodomy was prohibited by the law of Moses and condemned by the apostle Paul .
