STEPHANAS

[STEFF ah nus] (crown-bearer)-- a Christian in the church at Corinth who was baptized by the apostle Paul <1 Cor. 1:16>. The church at Corinth sent Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus to Paul while he was at Ephesus, informing him of the situation in Corinth. Paul apparently was encouraged by the good news which they brought <1 Cor. 16:17>.
