This is cultural because it is speaking of cultural

practices at that time. The Corinthians knew it

was shameful for a woman to be shorn (which is

what distinguished a prostitute at that time) and

Paul states that the women might as well be shorn

if they do not wear the veil as culturally this is

considered shameful.
