THE THREE TYPES OF LOVE

The three Greek words used for 'love' are:

(i) Eros: Love between man and woman (primarily sexual love and at the most base would be termed as 'lust').

(ii) Phileo : Brotherly love. Love displayed due to a mutual friendship with no sexual element involved.

(iii) Agape : Divine love. Self-sacrificial love. The love displayed by Jesus , especially when He died for us on the Cross.
