Topic: Temptation
We all know the story of Samson and Delilah and most of the time we are taught about the evils of sexual sins. Did you ever consider that
God intended this story to serve to raise our awareness of the many forms of temptations we are likely to encounter as we live our daily lives. After all, each of us probably has a Delilah story or two or more that we could share with each other in the hope to spare one brother or sister from the same agony or mistake we may have suffered or experienced. In 1 Peter 5:8-9 Peter warns us to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world." Never lose sight of the fact that those who choose of their own free will to be followers of Christ are all in this together to the last breath we take of this world. As such we can stand united as one body against satan and his evil to become conquerors of temptation and in so doing we give glory to God for all on this earth to see.
As you encounter the Delilah's in your life you can rest assured in your faith in God and know that His Word says that He will not give you more temptation then He knows you are able to handle. Your strength against the temptations of today's world rests in your relationship with Jesus Christ. He is always there to see you through those difficulty's in life that no one else can fix. Philippians 4:13 says: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Without Christ you are likely to be undermined by the evils of this world. With Christ you will have eternal life in His glorious Kingdom of Heaven. Don't wait till it's too late to accept Christ into your life. You can never know when your life here will end or when He may return but you can at least be ready.
