A Shining Star!

Topics: Christmas, Shining

"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the day of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

They saw the star and they knew it lead to Christ. So, they followed it. Something about the star just got their attention. Perhaps it shined a little brighter than the rest. Maybe it was prettier than the others. Whatever it was, something about this star was special. It pointed towards Bethlehem, where the Savior had arrived.

After a brief stop in Jerusalem, the wise men set out again. Suddenly, they  saw it again, "It's the star that leads men to Christ," perhaps one shouted.

And, again, they followed the star. It continued to point towards Jesus.
The Bible says the wise men "rejoiced with exceeding great joy" because the star was bringing them to the Messiah. It was special, because God used it to bring men to His Son.

Finally, after much traveling, the wise men came to the place where Jesus was, and instantly they knew who He was. He wasn't just a baby, He was the King of Kings. He wasn't just the son of Mary, He was the Son of God.

They were awestruck just being in His presence. The Bible says they "fell down and worshiped Him." I am convinced, they were never the same again. An experience with Jesus will change your life forever. He just has that effect on people, even as a baby.

You can always tell those who have really been effected by Jesus. You can tell it in their words, you can see it in their deeds. It's in the way they handle  hardships and pressures without ever losing control or being hateful. There's  something about them, in the way they always seem to be helping others.
They always have something good to say, something uplifting and encouraging. These kind of people stand out, because you can just feel something that comes from within them that says, "This is real. It is genuine."

They have something different. It's on their face, written in their smile, and it glows. It glows like a, well, like a star...

...It's the star that leads men to Christ. It's special, because God uses it

to bring men to His Son.

How brightly are you shining for Jesus?
