Tick, Tick, Ticking Away!

Topics: Purpose, Time

"I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me." - Philippians 4:13

A solar clock is more of a novelty than a useful
timepiece. It works much like a regular clock, except it is
powered by the light from the sun. Which, of course, stands to
reason, when there is no light from the sun,(at night) the clock
stops ticking. Kind of defeats the purpose, huh? If the clock

isn't ticking, then it isn't doing what it is created to do.

Now, I've got to admit, that if I were a clock, even a
solar clock, the pressure might get to me. Think about the
expectations that are placed upon it. A clock is expected to
tick every second. Minute after minute. Hour after hour. Day
after day. Week after week. Month after...well, you get the
idea. When you begin to get into year after year, it would
really begin to stress me out, were I a clock. How can I

possibly tick faithfully for YEARS and YEARS?

The answer is simple. One tick at a time.
Faithfulness isn't measured in years, it's measured in moments,
often one minute, or even one second at a time. A clock can
never tick for a year, without first doing so by the moment.

Of course, if you are a solar clock, you are
completely dependent upon the power from the sunlight to
keep you going.

You see where I'm headed here?

There are temptations to sin that you and I face every

single day. How do we remain faithful? How do we "keep
ticking" and do what we were created to do...honor and glorify
the Lord Jesus Christ? Is it possible to withstand the pressure
of being expected to be faithful for a lifetime?

It is...one tick at a time. It is...when we realize we are
completely dependent upon the power from the SONlight to
keep us going.

Christian, you and I will not only face temptations today,
but we will also face pressures today. That's just a part of life.

Some of us will have to face the hurt and pain associated with
broken relationships. Others may do battle with illness.
There will, no doubt, be those who will suffer physical,
mental and emotional ailments. Maybe you have a busy day
ahead or an unpleasant task on your schedule.

Whatever your need is today, do it in the power of the Son!
The Bible says, "I can do all things through Christ, which
strengthenth me."

That's a promise you can stand on!

Remember, remember, remember...if you do nothing
else today, remember this...whatever you face, as long as there
is light from the SON, you can keep on ticking!

Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ,"
