Who Are We ?
Behind these pages are two people with a team of friends around the world.
We are a married couple, Les Norman who is English and Pilar who is Spanish.
We are both 52 years old and have three children, James, 29, David 27,
and Elisabeth who is 13.Les Norman - photo (Well, it was a few years ago !)
For 24 years we have been supporting the training of men and women
of all ages, colours, nationalities and backgrounds for work in mission,
in churches and among the poor of the world.Usually that happens through the foundation we opened in 1987, The DCI Trust,
sometimes through centres that our students have opened in their own countries,
sometimes through churches at home or overseas who have asked for help. This has been our life's work since coming to know Christ, and our reward is to see people taking the love of God far and wide and helping the poor and neglected whether in the inner-city or in the distant jungle.
Today our main centre is here in the teeming market place of the 21st century, the Internet, where we have responded to over 900,000 visits in less than 3 years.
Les holds an earned Doctor's and Masters degree, Pilar is also qualified to degree level as a teacher and has known the Lord for over 36 years. We are both very involved together in all the same activities, although Pilar's heart is especially in prayer and intercession.
Our work is a response to the call of God many years ago, and we live in God's faithfulness and provision, without secular or denominational contract or salary . We do not make any appeals for money and our Foundation never charges for any service, time or visits.
We belong to a growing village church of 240 members and to the UK Evangelical Alliance, and are friends with believers from every part of the Christian faith. We have a long partnership serving the people in Burkina Faso, India, Spain and the Spanish speaking world where La Fundación DCI is well known and appreciated by many.
This web page comes from our home and office in a 90 year old cottage which we rent on an English farm, about 12 miles from the nearest big town.
The village has 24 homes and at the end of our lane is a church building with over 1000 years of recorded history.
These pages include an Internet version of our original School of Mission with 85 first-class lessons with support by e-mail, all completely free of charge. So, please have a good look round before you go home, especially at the The World Christian news pages where you'll see how the training turns into the solid reality of the work done by many of our friends and colleagues.
There are some special photos in our Photo Album and if you feel moved to help our work, we know lots of missions people and projects round the world who will be blessed and encouraged by your partnership.
