7.45pm-9.30pm
WELCOME (15mins): Warmly
welcome everyone, introducing newcomers.
Icebreaker: Go round each member asking them to think
Of one garment or object associated with a
King. If they
Cannot
think of one they must do a forfeit (can write some on
Cards –
examples below). Repeat this process for a Priest.
Examples
of forfeits: Stand on one leg whilst singing ‘Jesus
Loves
Me’; Put your left arm around the back of your head and
Touch
your nose; Walk like a monkey whilst whistling one verse
Of
‘Amazing Grace’ etc…
WORSHIP (30 mins): Ask
the worship leader to choose songs about us being a
Royal
Priesthood and reigning as Kings….
Eg. Come
and praise Him Royal Priesthood, We are a Chosen
People, Reign In Me
WORD (45 mins) :
Read through the material
together - the facilitator can ask
different
individuals to read different sections and relevant
verses.
Follow any given instructions.
After each point allow a discussion time
asking individuals
to share
their own experiences, problems etc. The fill in the
gap
answers are shown in bold below….
Because
believers in Jesus Christ are made priests, they do not need human priests
to represent them before God. They enjoy direct access into the very
presence of God! Every believer is a priest and king irrespective of
external factors such as color, gender, race or position in life. "There
is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one
in Christ Jesus" (Gal. 3:28). We are all kings and priests by
divine will.
This time
should lead to a time of praying for individuals as the L
Lord
leads.
WORKS (15mins): The last 15 mins are the most importance ones! Take time
Praying for non-believers and people with
problems. Pray for any
Church events that are forthcoming (evangelistic or otherwise).

________________________________________________________________
Christians can
rejoice! Why? They have been greatly honoured by God to be what? Read 1 Peter 2:5 and 1 Peter 2:9 and
comment.
Fill in the gaps: Because
believers in Jesus Christ are made __________, they do not need human
____________ to represent them before God. They enjoy ____________ into the
very presence of God! Every believer is a _____________________ irrespective of
external factors such as color, gender, race or position in life. "There
is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one
in Christ Jesus" (Gal. 3:28). We are all ___________________ by divine
will.
Read Ex. 19:4-6 and say what God’s plan was for His
people from the start…..
Read Hebrews 7:23-28 and Hebrews 10:11-14 and state the differences between the Old Testament priesthood under High Priest Aaron and the New Testament Priesthood under Jesus., the Great High Priest.
Access to God Through Christ
Read Hebrews 10:19-22 - the writer begins,
"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy
Place. . ." Now that is an interesting statement. Why? How can we have
confidence to enter His presence?.
In1 Peter 2:5 we see that we are a holy priesthood.
This holy priesthood belongs to Jesus Christ and we participate in it through
him because Jesus fulfilled what the Aaronic priesthood typified. What does the
term ‘holy’ mean – discuss.
To us who believe, 1 Peter 2:7 tells us, is honor
given. We read about that in the Greek text. A great dignity has been conferred
upon us--we have been made royal priests in the Royal Priest, Jesus
Christ. Read Hebrews 5:4-5 about the
high honour of God's royal priesthood of believers. How do we receive this
honour ?
Read Zechariah 6:13. Who is this talking of ?
In Christ, then, we are also kings. Why?
Read Romans 5:17 and Revelation 5:10 – as kings what
are we to do? What does this practically mean?
Kings Must Wage War
Read 2
Samuel 11:1 –Talk about the Spiritual meaning of this verse and ask each person
‘are you reigning in your life’ – this should lead into a time of prayer for
each other.
