Deborah and Barak's Battle

deborah_view.gif (26591 bytes)After Ehud, the second major judge, died, the people of Israel fell into wickedness once again. As a punishment for their disobedience, the Lord gave the Israelites over to Jabin, a Canaanite king who reigned in Hazor, nine miles north of the Sea of Galilee. King Jabin oppressed the Israelites for twenty years.

King Jabin’s army, under the command of Sisera, was stationed at Harosheth-hagoyim, a fertile, agricultural region in the Jezreel Valley near the strategic passage through the Carmel mountain range at Taanach. Jesus was "about thirty years of age" at this time (Luke 3:23).
