Location:
Chorazin
Description:
A carving of the pagan sun god, Helios (the left-most circular carving), appears among the ruins of the Chorazin synagogue. This kind of carving, as well as idols found at the site, may point to syncretism that arose within Judaism. (First century Chorazin was located on the north side of the nearby road.)
